چکیده

Multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (MIMO-OFDM-IM) has recently received increased attention, due to the potential advantage balance trade-off between spectral efficiency (SE) and energy (EE). In this paper, we investigate application of MIMO-OFDM-IM millimeter wave (mmWave) communication systems, where a hybrid analogy-digital (HAD) beamforming architecture is employed. Taking Pareto-optimal beam design, propose feasible solution approximately achieve globally SE EE, collision constraints multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) can be solved efficiently. Correspondingly, MOP SE-EE converted into for energy-efficient resource usage, by finding set (POS) towards Pareto front. This combinatorial-oriented allocation approach on relation considers optimal design power control strategies downlink multi-user mmWave transmission. To ease system performance evaluation, adopt Poisson point process (PPP) model mobile data traffic, evolutionary algorithm applied speed up search Compared benchmarks, experimental results collected from extensive simulations demonstrate that proposed vastly superior existing algorithms.

Spectral Efficiency of MIMO Millimeter-Wave Links with Single-Carrier Modulation for 5G Networks

Future wireless networks will extensively rely upon bandwidths centered on carrier frequencies larger than 10GHz. Indeed, recent research has shown that, despite the large pathloss, millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies can be successfully exploited to transmit very large data-rates over short distances to slowly moving users. Due to hardware complexity and cost constraints, single-carrier modul...

Spectral Efficiency Optimization For Millimeter Wave Multi-User MIMO Systems

As a key enabling technology for 5G wireless, millimeter wave (mmWave) communication motivates the utilization of large-scale antenna arrays for achieving highly directional beamforming. However, the high cost and power consumption of RF chains stands in the way of adoption of the optimal fullydigital precoding in large-array systems. To reduce the number of RF chains while still maintaining th...

On the Energy-Spectral Efficiency Trade-off of the MRC Receiver in Massive MIMO Systems with Transceiver Power Consumption

We consider the uplink of a multiuser massive MIMO system wherein a base station (BS) having M antennas communicates coherently with K single antenna user terminals (UTs). We study the energy efficiency of this system while taking the transceiver power consumption at the UTs and the BS into consideration. For a given spectral efficiency R and fixed transceiver power consumption parameters, we p...

Channel Estimation for Millimeter Wave MIMO-OFDM Systems via Low-Rank Tensor Decomposition

In millimeter-wave (mmWave) MIMO systems, both the base stations (BS) and the mobile stations (MSs) employ large antenna arrays for directional beamforming. Acquiring channel knowledge for beamforming transmission is challenging due to the large number of antennas. Several prior work has studied the overhead reduction channel estimation method on narrow-band channel. However, the mmWave systems...
